Roberto Carullo: Following a Dream


Roberto Carullo is an Italian POP Art artist who has developed his own distinctive style with which he creates universal messages. His art is aimed at spreading positive messages to remind us of the pleasure of everyday moments as well as the deeper values that allow for better social living.

The starting point is a canvas to which he gives a sense of three-dimensionality through the use of natural material products, which are then airbrushed. But what most characterises his art is the use of recycled polymers through which he gives life to his characters. The choice to use polymers derives from his great sensitivity to the theme of environmental preservation: a waste material that could become highly polluting is "recycled" and ennobled by the artist to become a true instrument of art. Hence the choice of polymers with different cores, solid or pastel colours, with different degrees of transparency, which under Roberto Carullo's creativity and hands become fascinating mosaics, unique works of art, a POP mandala.

But who are the characters that animate these works? Here too, the artist has made a very particular choice: he has chosen to represent emotions and messages through comic strip characters, who become a universal vehicle and are able to arouse the curiosity and attention of an ageless public.
